第三段，作者舉她的妹妹為例。妹妹自幼具有舞蹈天分，所以家里人把她送到舞蹈學校進行專業(yè)訓練，但是妹妹缺少動力（My sister, however, didn't care about dancing, so she never practiced or put any effort into her class），所以最終家里人也放棄了夢想。作者在最后提到，妹妹雖然天分很好，但缺少動力，因而這樣的天分沒有被好好利用，所以沒有在舞蹈上取得成功。

SAT傾向使用標準的書面體語言，不接受口語化或非正式文體的表達。如hopefully就被認為是口語化的詞，正式的書面語中，要說I hope或she hopes等等。

有人可能會反駁：偉大的作家都傾向于使用簡單的語言。

People often complain that our generation is politically apathetic. Just 25 years ago, it was common for students to join in strikes and antiwar protests, but nowadays, the stereotype goes, young people are more likely to be found watching MTV or shopping at the mall. I certainly was no different. Appallingly ignorant of current events, I never read a paper or watched the news, but I knew all about the personal lives of popular TV and movie stars. Then something happened to change my outlook forever.

D中的they和their有沒有指代little boys或drawings或stories的可能？這么多復數(shù)名詞在句子里，難道用they不存在問題嗎？其實，代詞指代對象的問題確實是SAT的一個灰色區(qū)域，不能據(jù)此作為選擇正確答案的唯一依據(jù)。另外，D中的they指代boys明顯錯誤，不可能是“人”被collected的。同樣，指代drawing或stories也是有問題的，不可能是A is collected for A這樣的結構。

因此，對這套叢書中的每一道試題分析，下筆之前我都會根據(jù)這么多年的SAT教學經(jīng)驗，預判學生們可能的難處、疑惑，然后再決定在這道題上我到底是不厭其煩、演釋再三，還是一筆帶過。

Important Reminders:

E的問題是使用了has，同時else很多余，并且moderate amounts of intelligence的表達不夠簡潔。
