C、D和E中，not only的位置都是有問題的，C的not only并列的是動詞wastes而不是從句；D的not only并列的是沒劃線的名詞their children's time；E的not only并列的是表手段或方式的by itself。因此，都不能和but also＋that從句構(gòu)成平行。
